Mouse defaults

For some reason, every time I shut off the computer, it wont "remember" the
way that I have the mouse set up. What can I do to fix this? I never used to
have this problem, but after having the local "computer guy" work on it, I
now have to go in each time and set up the scroll bar on the mouse (it's a
laptop).

Come on......someone out there must know the answer to this. This has to be
an easy one for someone who knows computers well...............

This problem occurs to me at home, are you the only user with your laptop? If not, do you change the setting for All users or just your own account?
