mouse cursor

My mouse cursor has just picked up a friend.I now have a
yellow star with a red exclamation mark in it.Don't know
where I picked this up at. Can anyone tell me where it
came from and how to get rid of it. Thanks

Reinstall the mouse driver thro the device manager. Also, tell me what is
the error code.

If there is any error code in the device manager, try this:

Go to Control Panel - Mouse - Pointers page, look down for the pointer
type that has this, and change it. From you later post it sounds like
Link Select is the one concerned
