Mouse and keyboard freezes

Hi.

One of our work stations is playing up. The mouse &
keyboard freezes and is totally dead. Once I restart,
everything is back to normal. This computer is not used
very often by anyone so it's just kept on for using a fax
server. After about an hour or 2, the problem returns.

I have tried reformatting the computer and doing a fresh
install of NT 4.0. The problem still occurs. I have
tried numerous keyboards and mice and the same problem
occurs. The computer had been working fine the way it was
for about 2 years. I have not added any additional
hardware or devices recently. Does anyone have any ideas
why this could be happening?

my 1st guess would be overheating if it's just been left alone for 2 years
it will be full of dust and other crap
open it up and give it a good cleaning
