What is the best way to change my motherboard battery?
I have a MSI K7T266 Pro2 board with AMD 1800 XP processor
Running on XP Home.

Changing the battery is usually incredibly easy. Check your
motherboard manual for instructions and where it is.

The bigger question is - do you need to change the battery?

But does it alter my settings,BIOS ect?

Yes, when you remove and replace the MB battery, the BIOS settings
will be lost - but with a modern BIOS they will reset to default, and
your existing HDs, CD drives, and memory will be picked back up. You
more than likely will have to change back anything you changed from
the default configuration, except for the above.

This assumes you unplug the computer from the wall before starting.
God, I hope you do that. You could be in for problems otherwise.
