More 1920's

Has anyone solved the 1920 error yet? I have successfully recreated the
error on the same box (format and start installation of windows from scratch)
3 times and on other boxes another 2 times. When is Microsoft going to fix
this or will it have to be a member of the community that bails them out
again!?

This isn't ringing any bells for me--maybe the heat is getting to me.
You've done a lot of work on this, so it sounds like something
replicable--can you lay out the details? I'm not recognizing that error, so
I'm not sure where/what is happening?

OK--sorry for the momentary failure--clearly this is an install issue. I
did a quick search (which yielded a third-party KB hit which actually may be
useful: http://support.installshield.com/kb/view.asp?articleid=Q107618

Am I recalling that this is an issue arising on Windows 2000 machines?

My belief is that this is permissions-related, but I don't think I have a
better handle on the solution than that--so far. I believe this has been
resolved by several users in these groups, but nothing came up that was
pursuasive enough for me to create a canned message saying "this is the
fix."

Let me see what I can find in the groups that seems worth trying.

OK - I'm short of time 'til later tonight, but what I'm finding so far is
that some users have resolved this by applying all critical updates via
Windows Update--specifically, a security rollup package.

Can you confirm that all critical updates have been applied on the machines
that are seeing this issue?
