iI have a dell 17" 1702 monitor.A little while ago the screen would change
and any pics and graphics would kinda look like a negative I would turn off
the monitor and it would revert to normal. (I havewindows 3d screen saver and
where it suppose to be black its like very thin black and white lines making
it look like gray. )
Nowthe screen is constantly like that. I dont know if its the monitor or
graphics card (radeon 9600) which I've tried different drivers to no avail.
the monitor is about 2 1/2 yrs old

Is the display any different before Windows loads?
If at all possible, try the monitor on another computer. That's the
simplest way to narrow it.

It sounds like your monitor is failing, but to be absolutely sure
connect the computer to a different monitor. If the problem is gone,
you know which component is the culprit.

thanks iI should have thought of that. All i had to do was disconnect it from
the graphics card and it goes into a self test mode. Its the monitor all the
colors of the self test are way off.
thanks
