Output to a 2nd Monitor won't hold proper resolution each boot

I have an Acer Aspire One Netbook. The screen is so small I only used it when being mobile. Now that I have a tablet the netbook is relegated to staying home. However, not unused. I have an LG monitor and I have it set as theprimary and "ONLY" monitor I used for it. So if you understand the cursor does not work across both screens, only the LG. I have a wireless keyboard and mouse so it's like using another desktop pc. The problem is that everytime I reboot the resolution on the LG is too big, things are off the border, and I have to resize it down each time. A pain for sure.

I had this solved once several years ago but have forgotten and can't find the solution again.

Any help would be appreciated. Jack ":-D

You have to setup the "Display" applet in Control Panel to show two

monitors. When you click on Identify the monitors will display a "1" and

"2" for each monitor. Hows the two displays are oriented in the dialogue

reflects how the two monitors exist physically. That is if "Monitor 1" is

on the left and "Monitor 2" is on the right then the Dispaly Dialogue should

also reflect that orientation.

Additionally the video Chip-Set software may have its own Control Panel

Applet or utility tro setup dual monitors and may also have a way to set a

default configuration.

Dave I appreciate so much your advice. I will check those settings again although I'm pretty familiar with them. As I mentioned, I am not using the monitor at all on the Acer itself. It's black and blank. I am using only the LG monitor. And all output is going to the LG just fine. It's just whether I go to to the Desktop to get to APPEARANCES or if I use the Control Panel Applet provided by the OEM it still reboots to a resolution too big and I have to adjust. But I will go back over those settings. Thanks, Jack ":-D
