Missing file after .NET download

I ran a Norton system scan after I downloaded .NET framework, and found 10
missing file errors...

I performed a system restore, then downloaded the framework again only to
get the same results.

It seems that all errors are due to 10 different .NET files, none of which
can access the necessary file "msvcr80.dll"...

Is this a missing registry file? How can I correct it?...Please teach me.

Personal experience, I had the same error, did a search for msvcr80.dll, located it
on the HD and placed a copy in the Windows/System32 folder.
Result, Norton's happy.
