missing archive.pst

Hello,

I have a user which has their outlook 2007 configured to autoarchive deleted
and sent items. The problem is the specified archive.pst file does not exist
anywhere on the computer (yes, I am showing hidden and system files). Another
oddity is that Outlook 2007 is not complaining about being unable to find the
file.

Why archiving to locally stored files is even allowed when Outlook 2007 is
configured to connect with an exchange server, is a mystery as well, but I
digress.

Any help would be appreciated.

If autoarchive is running and the items are being archived, then the file must
exist. Despite your believe you're showing hidden files and folders, perhaps
you're not. When you click File>Data File Management, do you see the Archive
PST there? If so, select it and click Open Folder.

The whole idea of archiving is to allow you to keep your mailbox to a
reasonable size. I think it makes a lot of sense. People just can't keep
track of tons of data that is rarely used. Archiving makes that easier..
