Minor issue with IE 6

Hi,

I am running XP SP2, and am fairly certain I am free of malware/spyware as I
run four different scans daily: Norton AV 2004, Spybot, AdAwareSE, and MS
AntiSpyware. Additionally, I am using the XP Firewall, and Spywareblaster.
I keep them all updated.

I have a minor issue with IE 6.

I use Excite as my startup page, and have for years. I have it set to my
liking and I get much from it. I understand that I have a tracking cookie
from this page. It has a TV listing grid that I refer to frequently. It
allows me to look at future times, and future dates over a week in advance.

Sometimes, when requesting a future time, I am asked for my zip code,
meaning something is blocking my transition. If I copy the main Excite URL,
and paste it into Tools, Internet Options, Privacy Tab, Sites, and click on
Allow, I can request the future time listing and it will go directly.

Something changes my setting of 'Allow' in the sites list, and I have not
been able to determine what does it. I have tried turning off one of the
Spyware Scans for a week at a time and it does not seem to make a
difference.

How do I make that a permanent "Allow" and keep it from being changed?

Thanks in advance!

Hi,
Ae you entering Excite into the "Always allow" list as simply "excite.com"
(without the quotes?) I enter cookies to be blocked in that format.

Have you tried deleting all excite.com cookies to get a fresh start?

I add it as copied right from the address bar.

I have tried using just plain excite.com, but get the same results.
Something is changing it from allow to block.

It just gets a bit frustrating after a while. I have it in my ignore lists
in Spybot, SpywareBlaster, and Ad Aware. I suspect that MS Antispyware Beta
might be the culprit. But I cannot find a setting that would do it.

Hi,
If excite.com remains in the "allow" list, this may just be some glitch in
the writing/reading of cookies. I use a number of Yahoo sites. Sometimes
when I go to movies.yahoo.com I have to enter the city or zip code- usually
I don't.

Sorry, I'm out of ideas.
