Hey Guys,
We have seen this symptom in the past as being profile corruption. Log in
with a different user profile, if the problem is not there it is likely
your profile has been corrupted. If this is the issue you would need to
create a new user account and copy the profile file back to overwrite the
corrupt one.
However, before you do away with your beloved profile check to see if it is
potentially virus related. You may have the W32.friendgreet.worm, missing
taskbar icons were a symptom.
