lost taskbar icons

I've suddently lost the minimised taskbar icons .. programmes will minimise,
but the icon no longer appears in the taskbar and I'm reduced to using [alt]
[tab] to navigate between programmes. Any one idea how I've done this (is
there a sneaky shortcut I've accidently triggered) and any ideas how to get
them back ?

Repair the Taskbar manually. See David's post here:

Note: You may lose all the existing Taskbar settings, and the additional
