Application opening minimised if closed when minimised

I have a CCTV monitoring program which can open to a sized window positioned
anywhere on the desktop. The program is called Monitor.exe and is produced by
a company called iCatcher.
My problem is that when using the PC, I normally minimise the window to the
taskbar, and if I want to see what is going on outside, I will click the task
to restore it to its last size and position. However, if I shut down Windows
and forget to restore the window before shutting down, then the next time I
launch this program it opens minimised to the task bar and no matter what I
try, I cannot restore it to make it visible again. The only way I have found
is to reinstall the program.
Do you know of any utility or registry setting to remember the preferred
opning size and position, irrespective of how it was last shut down?

Is the Restore option grayed out when you right click on the Icon?

Sounds like a bug in the program. A lot of applications monitor their window state and open in the
last state.

Did you check with the company that makes it?

Thanks for replying.
Yes, the first thing I did was to contact the company. They admit they are
aware of the problem. I was just wondering if anyone can think of a work
around, possibly some registry entry to not remember the last state or to
force a particular state when opening.

I downloaded a utility from PCMag which claims to do just this, but it
didn't work!

I'm not really holding out too much hope and am looking for a different
program, but so far unsucessfully.

If you activate it from the Start Menu, find the shortcut on the menu and
right click and choose Properties, and look on the shortcut tab in the Run
box to see if it is set to Normal. If not, change it, click Apply, click OK.
Reboot your computer. Instead of clicking to restore to normal after
minimized, right click and press your R key. (You could also get in the
habit of right clicking it on the taskbar and pressing your X key to close
it, and maybe you would then remember to R-restore it first. :)

I have a similar problem with the M-Audio Control Panel and the way I
get around it is to either close the application and open it by double
clicking or to right click the application in the taskbar and select
maximize.

I will certainly try this.

Many thanks
