Microsoft Works - Unreadable when sent

I have written some documents on Works 7.0 Word Processor and have tried to
send by e-mail and have also copied to cd on d' drive to give to the client
but when opened on other pc's with cd or e-mail they are unreadable. Instead
of readable text, the text is replaced with hollow squares. This is a new
notepad and I am baffled. We are all on XP. Please help as this is baffling
me as I am new to the computer world.

This group is for issues with the Help and Support Centre (though it's been
hijacked). Works is *NOT* part of the operating system - if you're having
issues with Works, then please repost to the appropriate group
(microsoft.public.works.win).

Unless someone else has Works installed, or has a converter for Works files,
they will not be able to read native Works documents, no matter what OS they
are running.

Either they need to install Works or a Works converter, or you need to save
the files in a format that they can read. The polite thing to do would be to
make it easy for them to read what you send them. So what you need to do is
find out what type of files they can open and then figure out how to save
your documents in a format that they can read.

If this is all to painful for you to figure out, it might be easier to just
go out and buy Word or Office or whatever it is you need that will allow you
to save the documents without any extra effort to make them compatible.
