RE: Microsoft Word 2003

The "help" option (F-1) is turned on automatically every time I start MS
Word. This came about suddenly and started about a month ago.

How would I eliminate the Word Help from appearing every time I start the
application?

Thank you,

Barry Karas

P.S. The help option appears on the right side of the monitor as you look at
it. Stage right?

Barry;

You start using the built-in help features of the programs on your
computer...
The built-in help and support features combined with Google has the answer
to a lot of the questions you ask. ;-)

If you had used the built-in help features of Microsoft Word and searched
for the first text that appears on the thing you call "Word Help” (‘Getting
Started’) --> you would find this:

Turn off the task pane on startup

Use this procedure to prevent the task pane from opening automatically when
you start Microsoft Office Word 2003.

1. Close all documents and WordMail messages.
2. On the Tools menu, click Options.
3. On the View tab, clear the Startup Task Pane check box.
4. Exit Word.

When you start Word again, the task pane should not appear.

The help even links to an external page:
