How Would I Move Toolbar From Side to Bottom of Screen?

On my desktop (and while programs are running) the toolbar (with the start
button and the clock) was at the bottom of my desktop in a horizontal
position. Now the toolbar is vertical on the right (stage left). I did not
do anything -- in fact, I did not want to move the bar.

How would I move the toolbar back to the bottom of the screen?

Thank you,

Barry Karas

P.S. I use Windows XP with SP2.

Hello Barry,

Right-click on the task bar and check that it is unlocked. Grab the
taskbar with your right mouse button, and holding down the button,
drag it back to the bottom of the screen.

You mean the "task bar."

Although by default the task bar appears on the bottom of the screen,
it can be on any of the sides you prefer it on. To move it from any
side to another, simply click on an unused part of it and drag it
where you want it. Be sure to click *within* it, not on the edge;
clicking on the edge and dragging will resize it.

If it won't move, it may be locked. In that case, right click on it
and uncheck "Lock the taskbar," then try again.

I did not
do anything -- in fact, I did not want to move the bar.

Almost certainly, you did the above accidentally, without realizing
it. It's fairly common.
