Unwanted image on Microsoft Word

Hi all

I don't know if this is the correct forum to ask this question or rather, to
get help. If I am in the wrong place perhaps someone can tell me where to get
answers to the following problem.

Some months ago, I was rummaging around on the internet and since that time
I have an unwanted image that appears every time I open up Microsoft Word to
type a letter.

I have to delete it every time.

I have carried out a 'clean up' and it still appears.

Can anyone help me with this problem please?

You might try the microsoft.public.word.newusers or similiar site.
Be sure to tell them word version.

Go to START - RUN and type in
Winword /a
Click on the Okay button.
If your word starts up without the unwanted image, you have a hosed Normal.dot file.
Do a search for "files and folders" (setting it show hidden files) and look for the file named
NORMAL.DOT
Delete all copies and restart Word.
