My PC is pretty old and was updates to XP some time ago. I had set up Office
Outlook as my email server/diary etc as I use this programme every day at
work and am very comfortable with it. I also use the Word documet programme
a lot too. About 6-9 months ago my pc started running very slowly and I was
advised to clean up disc space and remove unwanted programmes, shome how or
other I managed to remove all of my Microsoft Office applications from XP and
have so far been unable to restore them I have been away from home for some
time and now I am back home, I really want to get this sorted out, I need to
restore Office Outlook and Word at the least, but have been unable to do a
full system restore as it simply wont allow me to ge far enough back in
time. I have tried putting in my XP disc's but really don't know what I'm
looking for, can any one help me or give me some advice...?

You'll need to restore them from the original Office media/disks.

"Microsoft Word" and "Microsoft Outlook" are NOT part of Windows. If you
received these applications installed on a new computer, they were part
of a system bundle from the computer manufacturer or retailer. You
should have separate installation media for the applications OR the
computer manufacturer's system restore media (may be in hidden hard disk
partition). To reduce post sale customer support costs, SOME restore
media re-establish the application and data environment to that at the
time of manufacture which could erase your data files. Manufacturer
restore media would probably also roll the computer back to the earlier
Windows version without any security or other updates.
