Microsoft Word to open maximized

How do I get Microsoft Word to open maximized? [I was able to do this
before now by extending the sides and top and bottom [when I opened
Word]. Today the program keeps on opening in a minimized state. I have
extended everything - and even maximized Word by clicking on the box
in the upper right corner to no avail.

If you haven't already do this....

Right Click on the shortcut that opens MS Word
Click on "properties"

In the "Run" dropdown window, select "Maximized"

Click OK
