I am running windows XP (have been for about 4 years!) and about 2 years ago I got MS Office XP prof edition. Yesterday, all of a sudden outlook stopped working. Every time I try to open it, it comes up with "Microsoft Outlook has encountered a problem and needs to close" with a tick box asking if I would like to re-open Outlook. If I try this the same thing just keeps happening.

I haven't installed anything new or made any system changes recently. I have tried uninstalling & reinstalling, I have tried the Office XP Repair and Detect function still with no joy. I have also tried creating a new profile and running outlook through that, but exactly the same thing happens.

The only way I can run it is in safe mode.

Any ideas would be much appreciated as this is driving me crazy!!!

back up your most important docs then try a system restore?

start/run/restore

click on a date nearest to todays. it is fully reversible if it dont work

it may work it may not. seems u may have a corrupt file somewhere going from the information you have given us

of course this is just a wild guess at present
