Microsoft, Hello

P

paranoid

Looking in my Update History I found KB915597 installed, a Windows Defender
definition change requiring a re-start, cannot be removed, from OTHER.

Gimme a F- break, OTHER?

I've seen this explained, but I can't remember where. The update client
works with a variety of update sources. In a corporate setting, it will be
pulling updates from a corporate WSUS server, or, if permitted, from
Microsoft's update servers. Windows Defender definitions come from a
different set of Microsoft servers, but I believe that the client only has
"Other" as a choice in describing that situation.

Thanks for bringing it up--feedback like this from customers builds a case
for making changes to issues like this.
