My parents just bought a digital camera and i need to free up a USB
port for them. They have 2 both being used by printer and Microsoft
Basic Optical Mouse. I bought the PS/2 adapter and it wont work. I
pluged my sisters mouse into it which is PS/2 and it did work. Why
can't I get the Microsoft mouse to work? The website says it should.

this newsgroup is devoted to questions about MS Access relational database
software. recommend you post your question to an appropriate group, though i
can't suggest any one in particular, sorry.

Sorry. This is the Microsoft Access Database newsgroup. It appears
your question is not related to that database. You are much more likely to
find someone with the answer if you post your question to a newsgroup
devoted to your subject.

I would suggest getting a USB hub. For a few dollars, you plug it in
one USB port and get four or more new ones. As I recall you can attach up
to 255 USB devices at a time into one thread.

Possible that you need a special USB-PS/2 adapter for your optical mouse.
All the products that I have bought from Microsoft (mouse and keyboard)
already have such an adapter in the box; so I didn't have to bought one.

Also, take a closer look at the front and the back of the computer because
desktop these machines usually have more than 2 USB ports. Otherwise, you
may need to buy a new USB card or a hub with supplemental ports.
