microsft works and word document

hi - i made a cv up using microsoft works and sent it out as an
attachment applying for jobs. however, they cannot open it and asked me
to submit it in word format but i havent got a clue how to do this.
could someone help me please?

If you haven't got Word, then it is rather difficult.
Word comes as standalone or with MS Office or with Works Suite.
It is usually cheaper as part of a Works Suite (not the
standard Works) rather than part of MS Office, assuming you don't want
the other components.
The last Works Suite I saw contained Word XP as they always seem to
contain the version before the current one.

In the version of Works that I have 8.0 all you have to do it click on File
Save as and in the drop down menu select one of several Word formats such
as Word 6.0/95 (*doc).

Thanks - i didnt realise that i needed a programme - i only have
microsoft works. thanks for taking the trouble to reply.

See if MS Works will save your CV as an .rtf file. If so, it should be
readable by more applications.

thanks for trying to help - i did as you suggested but the transferred
file ended up too big for the page.

i will have another go later today and see if i can work out the best
way to do it.

Not sure what you mean by the above. If you are trying to paste or
e-mail a file that the receiver says is too large, send it as a .zip file.
