Hi please please please help..
I have created my CV in windows works word XP and i'm sending with my e-mail as a attchment: 9 out of 10 people cant open the attachment
I sent the same e-mail with my CV attachment created in Works Word Processor xp to a friend and had a look... He (my friends has Windows 98) We could open the e-ail but not the attachment! Is this due to him having Windows 98
How do I send my CV as an attachment so that all who I send to can read
(e-mail address removed)

Hi Wes,

It might be a setting in the recipient's e-mail client that they need
to change:

Start Outlook Express.
2. On the Tools menu, click Options.
3. Click the Security tab, click to clear the "Do not allow
attachments to be saved or opened that could potentially
be a virus" check box under Virus Protection, and then click OK.

Applicable Microsoft Knowledge Base Article:

Cannot Open E-Mail Attachments in Outlook Express

To avoid these problems it would be better if you converted your CV to
pdf format before sending it, that way everybody who had a pdf reader
like Acrobat reader could see it, independently of their system.

Good luck, hope this helps

Hi Wes,

Assuming it is not a security issue, your problem may be that the people you are sending to don't have Works on their computer.
I would send documents in Microsoft Word. If you can't afford Microsoft Word, you can download OpenOffice which can read/write
Microsoft Word, Excel & PowerPoint files.
