Messages' Modified Dates

I am trying to archive my e-mails, but all untouched messages in my Outlook account folders have had their modified dates reset to 01/01/2009. Does anyone know what will have done this please?

My event log still has entries for that date, but there is nothing I can see that happened at the time recorded against these updated modified dates.

Did you import messages on that date?

What type of email account do you use?

It may well have been the day I switched from Outlook Express to Outlook for real. It was reasonably recently, so I guess the import was the cause then?.
