Messages body transparent for one user

I have one user using Outlook 2003 who, when he opens an email message, it
show up as transparent. Additionally, when he tries to open a message that
was sent as text, he gets an error that says, 'Can't open this item'.

We have tried:
disabling html
turning off word as the editor
uninstalling and reinstalling outlook

I've searched the web and found other users reporting this problem, but I
have yet to find anyone offering a solution.

Any help would be appreciated.

i also am having the same issue, tried all the same remedies, has anyone
found a solution?
