Body of Email is Blank

There is a user in my company who can read most of his email, but sometimes
he'll get an email from someone inside or outside our company that he can't
read. He can open the email, but the body is blank. When the same message is
sent to other people's Inboxes, they can read it. The only thing I notice
about the email he can't read is that it's not in a standard font, and the
text is usually a color other than black. He is using Outlook 2003, SP3, and
we have Exchange Server 2007.

I tried recreating his Outlook profile, but it didn't fix the problem.

Caroline I asked for some help from a Word MVP and he said:

do a "View/Source" on the thing and look to see
what's in it.

About the only one I can think of that would not show on one workstation
but would show on the others is a graphic. If Word has been set to
"Show picture placeholders" it Tools>Options>View, then if the text of
the email is a picture (spam sometimes is...) it won't show.

If Outlook is set to display all email in plain text, and the content
contains oly a picture, it won't show.

But until we see the code, we can't go any further. "Won't display" is
not sufficient: what appears "instead"? Show me the code of the email,
and I can maybe see why it doesn't display :)

So get back to me and we'll see if this can be sorted out somehow!

Thanks for your reply. I asked someone else at work to look into this and
they found a Microsoft KB article that mentions this problem and suggests
turning off Exchange Cache Mode and applying the latest Office 2003 service
pack. That solved the user's problem. Here is a link to the article:

The kb article states email may appear blank if the email was encrypted or
digitally signed.

It was actually SP1 that fixed this - not the latest one.
