Outlook acting very strange, transparent mails, corrupt display

Paul Duane

One of my users is using Outlook 2003 SP3, on a p4, 2gb Ram hp box running XP
Sp2. This is a new machine, as his old machine was having the same problems,
so i am looking at a user profile error.

The problems are that, he opens a mail in outlook, and you can see half of
the window behind the new mail as if it were transparent. It almost looks as
if the display drivers are corrupt, or even the video card. But its not, both
brand new installs, and the problem is only happening in Outlook.

if a new mail comes in when he is reading another one, it corrupts the
display again, half of the mail looks to open up the window behind it.

Any ideas ?

is this exchange server? on the new machine, did you create a new profile,
or copy files (pst, ost) from the old machine? are you using any add-ins?
virus scanner, etc?
did you install outlook on the new machine, and nothing else, and did it
happen then?

I am having the same problem with one of my users. It is not Exchange, it
only happens with certain senders and only when hitting the reply or forward
button. We run McAfee, but none of the rest of us have this problem. She
has to to go to VIEW & select NORMAL to be able to see it clearly.
