Memory leak??

Hello
its Windows Xp Pro sp2 updated to sp3.
Machine: intel centrino 2GHz, 2Gb of ram.

Problem:

Since i updated the system to SP3 i noticed that Explorer consumes memory
continuously till it reaches 300Mb and the PC becomes dead slow.

when i multi-task using more than one program, after closing all of them the
pc remains slow.

if i keep the PC on with programs in the background for a long time, after
closing all of the programs the PC is still SLOW like hell.

the only solution i have so far is to restart it!

any help please xx

try disabling indexing
service and windows
desktop search program
and your anti virals,
temporarily to see if
one of these improves
the diagnosis.

Download Process Explorer.
For further information about Process Explorer see here:
http://www.microsoft.com/technet/sysinternals/SystemInformation/ProcessExplorer.mspx

What is the image name of the process producing high CPU usage? With
Explorer you will see the "children", those further down the tree. This
could help narrow down the source of the unexplained CPU usage.

It would be helpful if you could post the Command Line of the process
generating the excessive CPU usage. In Process Explorer place
cursor on Process and select Properties, Image.

Hope this helps.
