A background puzzlement

XP Pro, SP3, Current updates, Thinkpad T60p at 2GHZ. I've been into
computers for decades - until a noggin disaster blew that.

My memory ain't what it used to be, but I could swear that I have been able
to right click on my desktop then properties and get a dialog with which to
cgange desktop backgrounds.

Today I tried it and the closest thing to that was Screen Saver - nothing
with backgrounds to select.

Have I lost my mind or part of my operating system?

Yes you might have lost your mind. After right-clicking on the desktop,
you select Properties; Then you select Desktop {this is the second
tab}; This has all your backgrounds to select from.

Hope this helps.

Wahoo! There was another group policy setting (control panel display)
called "Hide Desktop Tab." That one was already set to "Not configured" and
messing with it didn't help.

The one you suggested was also already set to "Not configured," but I turned
it on then off again and that brought back the desktop tab. Thanks a
million.
