IE7 XP SP3

Did i read some where that it's best to install IE7,before installing SP3...
The reason i ask,Its that I got a used/old computer gave to me XP(2002)..
It was/still running slow in some area's like the IE7 tabs, the tab will
linger a bit after the webpage has closed.
I have done clean-up as far as checking & getting rid of old stuff, done
scans & cleaned up the computer very nice..
However it still taking much time to close a tab in IE7.
I updated all security from Microsoft updates.I installed SP3 before
,installing IE7.
Any suggestion on what to update/upgrade in the hardward area???

Windows XP Home Edition Service Pack 3 (build 2600)
2.00 gigahertz Intel Pentium 4
MotherBoard: ASUSTeK Computer INC. P4G533LA REV 1.xx
60.05 Gigabytes Usable Hard Drive Capacity
44.59 Gigabytes Hard Drive Free Space
256 Megabytes Installed Memory
Intel(R) 82845G/GL/GE/PE/GV Graphics Controller [Display adapter]
Realtek RTL8139/810x Family Fast Ethernet NIC

Thanks

1) 256 Megabytes Installed Memory = too little especially since
you are using an integrated graphics controller
Upgrade to 512MB or more memory.

2) Intel(R) 82845G/GL/GE/PE/GV Graphics Controller [Display adapter]
Takes some of your existing 256MB memory, leaving less for XP operating
system.
Add a Graphics card = better graphics performance + no sharing of main
memory.
Your model may not have an AGP slot so a PCI (not PCI-E) card may be
your only solution.

3) Check you hard disk performance and specifications.
Should be a 7500 RPM with a least 8MB cache, with
a transfer rate of 50MB/s or better.

Some tools to check your drive are as follows:
HD Tune: http://www.hdtune.com/

SpeedFan has an online analysis feature for hard drives.

The more tabs you have the more memory
your PC needs, thus five or six tabs may end
up gobbling up to much of the 256MB in your
PC and results in more use of the pagefile. Especially
if each web page you have (tab) is heavily populated
with photos, flash or other media/videos.

I have always read that SP3 should be installed before updating to
IE7. This way, you can always "roll-back" IE 7, as one accepted fix
of a lot of IE & problems is to uninstall IE 7 (then reinstall it.)
If you install SP3 after, IE 7 can never be "uninstalled" without
uninstalling SP3.
