I downloaded the Series 9 Media Player for Microsoft Cd
player, every since my CD player will not work.

I called Gateway and they said I would have to strip my
system and start over.

When I put in a CD the light will not go out....

It doesn't read the CD. I don't know how to load the
original Cd player because the files are on CD....

Can anyone help me ???

I would think that "cdplayer.exe" (or whatever the old CD player is) would
still be on the system. If you go to WMP9's Tools:Options:File Types menu
and uncheck "CD Audio", that should roll back to the previous player, and it
may then work...
