Media player in internet explorer

when i goto humor sites with videos i click on the video and internet
explorer closes no explantion no error codes or nothing ???


but videos on my computer play no problem

just when it comes to live streaming video it closes every time


tried reinstalling xp using repair

tried reinstalling media player 10

still no results

i have windows xp sp2

Step 1: Please first reduce Display Hardware Acceleration to check this issue

1. Click Start, go to Run, type in "DESK.CPL" and press Enter.
2. Click the Settings tab, click Advanced, and then click the Troubleshoot
tab.
3. Move the Hardware Acceleration slider to None, and then click to clear
the Enable Write Combining check box.
4. Click OK, and then click OK again.
