IE 6 encounters a problem and closes with Windows MP 10

I've seen several postings regarding IE 6 "encounters an error and needs to
close" when viewing streaming video. I'm using Windows XP SP2, IE
6.0.2900.2180, Windows Media Player 10, and I can't watch ANY streaming video.

The error claims to be related to wininet.dll, and I've tried the fixes
suggested in other postings - deleting Temporary Internet Files (including
offline content), and even using CCleaner to try to get rid of the problem.
Nothing is working. Any suggestions? Thanks.

I'm replying to my own post, because I've found a solution that worked. It
appears that the problem is with Windows Media Player 10, some kind of
incompatibility with XP Pro SP2. I found a posting on the WMP page that
helped.

I rolled back my WMP 10 to WMP 9 by going to Add/Remove Programs and going
through the rollback process. Now it all works fine!
