IE closes when trying to stream media

Using Windows XP pro SP2, Windows Media Player 10, IE 6,
RealOne Player 2.0.
Any program that attempts to play streamining audio or
video closes with no error message. Local media files
play fine.

Either reinstall windows media player and download the new windows media
player 10 or, How to Reinstall or Repair Internet Explorer and Outlook

The problem doesn't seem to lie within just media player
or IE. It does the same with real player content aslo. IE
also isn't the only broswer affected.
