IE closes no error message given

Using Windows XP pro SP2, Windows Media Player 10, IE 6,
RealOne Player 2.0.
Any program that attempts to play streamining audio or
video closes with no error message. Local media files
play fine.

The problem doesn't seem to lie within just media player
or IE. It does the same with real player content aslo. IE
also isn't the only broswer affected.

Reinstalling IE or WMP did not help

Hi,

The problem seems to come from IE cache file. When Wmplayer tries to connect
to a stream, it loads wininet.dll and perform some basic checks, as
calculating IE cache size. If it's too big it creates a buffer overrun in
WMplayer and terminate the process. (any other browser that uses wininet
will also have the problem).

Just delete it from IE / Tools / Internet Options / Delete files and the
problem should be resolved.

Hope this helps

Vincent
