Media Player doesn't open

!) There is absolutely no sound, even at start up.
2) Media Player will not open, just flashes back to the icon.

You have a sound card problem. Start orb, type:
devmgmt.msc
Open the sound card devices and use the action menu to 'uninstall' all of
them, then use the action menu to 'scan for new hardware' This will replace
the sound drivers

What was installed or uninstalled before this problem started? This problem
is most typically symptomatic of certain software doing bad things to the
player's registration.
