I am using Windows Vista Ultamite 64 bit. I have a 7.1 sound system, Windows
Media Player 11 and a Intel Core 2 Quad board w/4 gigs memory.
All my speakers test out fine even in media player but when I play song or
watch movies it is in stereo mode only!.
I had sorround sound to start with and then one day it went away. any help?

Did you let Windows Update install any drivers related to sound, have
you checked the card maker's website for driver info / updates.
Sometimes driver updates fix one thing and break another. Not knowing
what card it is or what motherboard and the version numbers makes it
hard to diagnose sometimes, what options do you get when you right click
on the speaker icon in the system tray?
