media player 10 help

Have tried to upgrade to media player 10, or at least my daughetr did, but it
says it wasny installed properly. Kept re-trying but same message every
time, so tried going back to original media player, and now get a message
saying gdiplus.dll not found. HELP PLEASE, my daughter (12) now cant use her
MP3 and is driving me mad,
