map network printers in TS

R

russell wilson

we have a remote site that connects to Terminal Server
2000.
The remote site workstations use printers on their local
network installed to local print server boxes
(TCPIP printer to Jetdirect)
How do I get these local network printers to show up in a
Terminal
services session?
(Only the printers connected to the LTP ports show up)

I have tried mapping the printer to a local port ie with
this
net use ltp1 169.212.xxx.xxx\printername

but this hasnt worked as it says cant find the printer ?!

Thx
Russell

The download link works perfectly for me. The URL does wrap around in a
newsreader, though. Did you paste the complete URL into IE? If you
doubleclick on the first line of the URl, it automatically puts
"&DisplayLang=en" at the end. If you then paste the second line after it,
it will not work, you'll have to delete the first "&DisplayLang=en" first

Argggggggggghhhh!!!

I tried it on the remote site which is connected via a
isdn line and conectes through a router and firewall. (TS
works fine)

It still wont map the network printer. The event log says
driver unknown for that printer so it has tried to. But
the server has a that printer indstalled on it already so
the driver does exsist. Any further pointers?

Thx

Probably the driver names do NOT match. Read the article I wrote that is on
the Microsoft website for further information.
