when either using terminal server sesson or remote desktop sesson printers
on the local PC do not show in the sesson.

some printers are install on the workstation either thru LTP1 ot USB other
printers are network printers with their own IP address

why do the printers not show so you can use them and how do you force them

in the remote desktop connection setup, on local resources tab, check
printers to enable local printers to be available in a terminal session

Check the EventLog on your Terminal Server to see why the printers
are not redirected. Most likely, the server doesn't have a driver
for the printer and you will see the Events listed in the KB
article below. If that's the case, you have to map them to a native
driver.

239088 - Windows 2000 Terminal Services Server Logs Events 1111,
1105, and 1106

For USB connected printers, check the local port on the client. If
it is a custom port (mostly DOT4, for HP printers), you have to
follow this KB article:

302361 - Printers That Use Ports That Do Not Begin With COM, LPT,
or USB Are Not Redirected in a Remote Desktop or Terminal Services
Session
