Making a new internet connection

I recently updated to windows XP Pro and now I am having
problems reestablishing a dial up connection. I click
on "create a new connection" and I get to the part where
it says "set up connection manually" and then I
click "next" and there are supposed to be three options...
1. Connect using a dial up modem
2. Connect using a broadband connection that requires a
user name and password.
3. Connect using a broadband connection that is always
on.
My problem is that the first two choices are
inactive....they don't allow me to click on them. The only
option I have is the third, but the first option is the
one I need. Anyone have any ideas at all? Your help is
greatly appreciated. Thank you.
