Low virtual memory warning

I occasionally get a warning that my virtual memory is low on a system with
WinXP Pro SP3. I don't see how that's possible. Min of 2MB and max of 50MB is
set for drive C, and min of 50MB with max of 1GB is set for drive D (separate
HDD as MS suggests). XP has never even created a page file on C, and the one on
D is only about 51MB. Both HDDs check out A-OK.

In the two years this computer has been running with that same setup, there was
never once a low virtual memory warning until now.

Coincidentally, the exact same thing recently started happening with a friend's
WinXP Home SP3 system. His virtual memory setup is similar to mine.

Any ideas?

Set the one on the D drive to system managed. What you see can be caused by
a program
which reserves more than 1 GB in the page file. Perhaps the program never
needed that much pagefile space until now.
