Virtual Memory too low

gary

I have a Pentium 4 CPU 3.00 GHz 2.99 GHzm 504 Mb of Ram.

Under Virtual Memory:

Performance Options, Advanced, "Processor scheduling" and "Memory
Usage" are both seleted.

Under Performance settings
Space Available = 25277 MB
"Custom Size" is selected and the Initial and Maximum sizes are
1512 MB.
Total paging file size for all drives: Minimum 2 MB, Recommended 753
MB.

What should I change to resolve the "Virtual Memory too low"
condition?
What should the settings be changed to?

Set it to "System Managed Size".
Don't forget to click on "Set" when done.
BTW, why did you set it to Custom? For most users the System Managed Size
works perfectly well.

Normally it's pretty enough to have virtual memory about 1.5 times
more than your physicala memory, but in extreme cases there isn't any
problem to increase your virtual memory.

Indeed, initial and maximum values should be almost same to handle a
healthy virtual memory management.

you have answered your
own question.

set the min and max as
"recommended" by your o.s.

you can then tweak the
re adjust the sizes later.

as you already know
windows has no trouble
in notifing you....

as a tip, you might want
to increase the max size
to 1.5 times the amount
of ram you have installed.

but you can do this later
since it seems that windows
is suggesting you rarely
exceed 753 megs of virtual
mem.
