lost sound system

I am running windows xp sp2 and have lost my system sounds. I have tested
sounds with the diagnostic tool and it failed sound 1 and sound 2 with the
error message "HRESULT = 0x00000000 (error code) It also failed all the music
files.

Here is info on my sound system.

Hi there Whosur,

I've had the same problem with Creative Soundblaster hardware previously.
Typically you need to uninstall the software from the Add/Remove Programs and
reinstall it. I recommend getting the latest software from Creative's
website as it will have the latest driver versions.

If the soundcard is still appearing in the Device Manager list, then it's
probably not a hardware issue. But if you still have the problem after the
reinstall, try moving the soundcard to another slot.

Thanks for the suggestion I reinstalled soundblaster and d/l new drivers
from creater but still no sound. Thanks for trying.
