Lost PST File

I have a problem, hope the Outlook Gurus can help. PC was running slow, wife
decide to Remove Outlook (thru Control Panel / Add-Remove programs) not
realizing some of us still use it. NO CURRENT BACKUPS!! So how do I
recover? Does the uninstall process really remove/delete the PST files? Or
are they still there and recoverable? Any help would be appreciated. I
thought that maybe reinstalling Outlook 2002 that I might be able to recover
the PST, BUT thought it best to check with ya'll beforehand. I'm sure it's
not the first time this has ever happened

Uninstalling Outlook never touches the data files. Any you had are still
there.
