lost product key how can i get it back office home and student 200

amanda

here's my story...

I just recieved a new toshiba laptop and the first day I recieved my new
laptop I intalled my recentely bought microsoft office and student home 2007
that I had bought at bestbuy for $157.99! I had entered the product key and
everything was set up.
Then I went on and deleted some useless pre-installed programs on my new
toshiba but then I accidentely deleted something I shouldn't have. So i put
in a media recoverey disc that deletes the hardisc completely and restores
the laptop to the "out of the box" condition. As my system came back i
noticed that thankfully microsoft office was still installed but it keeps
asking for the product key.
But the thing is my brainless dad threw away the microsoft office
original packaging. And i was wondering how i can get my product key back
because I can only use office eleven times before it quits on me. What can I
do?
thank you for listening to my long story and please give me
advice.

You have asked this question in a group for discussions about Microsoft
Access, a relational database program. You may do better to ask in an
Office group.
On another note, you apparently realized that you need the original
packaging because of the product key. Since you did not secure the
information either by writing the key on the installation disk or by
assuring the packaging or the key was filed away safely, I wonder who
exactly was not thinking things through in detail.

One of the hurdles you'll have to cross is establishing that this particular
copy of Access was obtained from a legitimate vendor, and is a legitimate,
and not a pirated, copy. And that may require a bit of work on your part.
First, do you have any proof of the purchase (e.g. store receipt, credit
card statement, cancelled check) ? Perhaps the vendor from whom you
purchased it can help you establish that it is a legitimate copy. WIth that
in hand, try contacting MS customer support to see if you can find a remedy.
Or ask your dad to make the call for you. If he can help you, it might go a
long way toward establishing that he's probably not all that brainless after
all.

Best of luck to you.
