product key not recieved with laptop

I recieved my laptop as a christmas gift and i have microsoft installed...but
im am not sure if it is the trial one or not. Everytime i try to get on a
program it asks me to enter the product key...everything was downloaded onto
my computer b4 i recieved it and the person who got me the laptop is not very
good with computers and does not know how the microsoft program got
installed. So basically i have no hard copy of a cd or anything with a
product key on it. How can i get my product key and where do i need to go so
that it does not lock me out? please help..

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news but frankly none of us can tell you that.
You need to find out who installed it and with what. There's no way we can
figure that out for you.

So, you either do that or you purchase the programs again. That's basically
your legal options at this point.

Does it let you use the program? If the answer is yes then it is probably a
trial version and will quit working if you don't elect to purchase it and
get a product key from Microsoft.
