Lost=open with...

Title says it all. I lost the "open with..." option, either from right
clicking, or SHIFT and right clicking, or from double clicking on an
unregistered file type. Now when I click on an unregistered file,
nothing at all happens.
The OS is the Nightmarish WindowXP pro sp1a, all uptdate done as of
09/29/2003.
Help?

Hi Martin,

This setting allows you to control whether the checkbox to save the "Open
With" program is available when an unknown file type is opened.

HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Unknown\shell\openas\command

To enable the checkbox set the (Default) value to:

%SystemRoot%\system32\rundll32.exe
%SystemRoot%\system32\shell32.dll,OpenAs_RunDLL %1

Return to the desktop and press F5 for the change to take effect.

Thank's Kelly, tried all theses tweak, still no joy (except for
Notepad.exe that is back in the context menu, but not at the same place
that it was before). Still don't understand how theses things can change
on their own with no user input.

There is no "Open With" key under "ContextMenuHandlers". I'll try adding
it and see how it goes.
