Lost ability to open compressed (zipped) files

Guest

I'm running XP pro SP 2 and I have recent lost the ability to open compressed
(zipped) files. The file association does not appear in the "Tools>Folder
Options>File Types" list and i can not add it nor does the assciation appear
in the "Send To" menu...

Also, I can not register nor unregister the zipfldr.dll using
regsvr32 zipfldr.dll
regsvr32 /u zipfldr.dll

Any ideas on how to restore this file system feature?

Thank you

Wesley;

Thank you for the information. I received an error message when i ran the
command for zip files.

It gave me the following error:
"Cannot import C:\......zipfolder_fix.reg: Error accessing the registry."....
NET:NET: It sort-of worked because I can see the file association for
Compressed (zipped) folders but it is not working.

Any suggestions on a registry fix utility?

Thank you for you help!

Update your antivirus software and run a full system scan.

Do the same for whatever anti-spyware programs that you have.
